Biography

Diogo is a mechanical engineer with over a decade of experience in research, consultancy, and education in marine renewable energy technologies. He coordinates the conceptualisation, development, and implementation of a digital twin for monitoring the construction, transportation, and wet-storage of concrete floaters for offshore wind turbines, encompassing IoT infrastructure, data management, and numerical modelling. Additionally, Diogo leads hydrodynamic studies using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). During his academic career, culminating in a PhD, he was the lead researcher responsible for the conceptualisation, detailed design, construction, and experimental validation of an innovative off-grid wave energy converter.
