Wind Energy and Defence
When: Wednesday 22 April, 09:00-11:00
Open to: All registered participants. With additional registration required.
As offshore wind becomes strategic infrastructure, governments across Europe are increasing expectations on its protection. But how should physical security requirements be defined and implemented in practice? This session brings together industry, policymakers and technical experts to discuss how to translate the outcomes of the Hamburg North Sea Summit into workable approaches for offshore wind.
The discussion will focus on:
- defining proportionate, risk-based security requirements
- establishing clear roles between public authorities and project developers
- identifying practical and technically implementable security solutions
- developing workable public–private approaches, including funding of security and dual-use systems
The session will enable a direct exchange between industry and public authorities, with contributions from government representatives and technical experts, to support a coordinated and implementable approach to offshore energy security in Europe.
