Biography

Dr Steve Freeman is a highly experienced offshore wind professional with senior leadership and technical expertise in early-stage project development, environmental planning and consents, and intergraded green hydrogen. With over 22 years in the wind energy industry, Steve has worked with numerous offshore wind developers globally and experienced the different perspectives, cultural nuances and strategies used on project portfolios. He was the Chair of RUK's green hydrogen working group and previously the Global Offshore Wind and Green Hydrogen Lead for an international consultancy. Steve has a PhD in marine biology, formal training in energy policy and law, and prior to a career in offshore wind, Steve worked in the Oil & Gas sector managing environmental and planning consents.
