Biography
Rafael holds a master's degree in Renewable Energy from Oldenburg University and has been working as an engineer since 2012, with extensive experience with offshore wind projects across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He specializes in measurement campaigns using lidar systems and has a strong background in project management of large-scale offshore measurement campaigns, development of measurement concepts, and scientific data analysis. In 2019, Rafael provided technical advisory for the first large-scale scanning lidar measurement campaign, which was designed to assess wind farm scale blockage. In 2020, he led the successful manufacturing and deployment of several floating lidar systems across APAC. Rafael has experience with over one hundred lidar verification campaigns, including ground-based, nacelle-based, floating, and long-range scanning lidar systems. As nominated expert from Denmark, Rafael actively contributes to the development of the IEC 61400-50-4 standard for wind measurements using Floating Lidar Systems.Presentations
