Offshore wind decommissioning

Repowering, lifetime extension and decommissioning

When: Thursday, 23 November 2023, 14:45 - 15:30
Where: Dock 10

Session description

In this session we will discuss offshore decommissioning from different perspectives. Currently, there’s no consensus on what must be removed. Nor on the environmental impacts or benefits of removal or keeping elements in situ. So what are the best practices ? How can we harmonise regulation on offshore decommissioning ? What type of cross border collaboration is needed ? And should standards be applied? What bottlenecks can impact the decommissioning plans ? And what learnings from the oil & gas industry could we take on board ?
