Driving Cost Reductions in Offshore Wind – presentation of the final results of the LEANWIND project

When: Wednesday 29 November 2017, 15.30 – 16.00

Where: WindEurope Stand (2C32), EU funded projects corner

The presentation will describe how to achieve cost reductions across the offshore wind farm lifecycle and supply chain through the application of lean principles. Originally used by Toyota in the automotive sector, “lean principles” are applied to offshore wind for the first time with the LEANWIND project. They include: identifying what the customer needs; track, reduce or eliminate wasteful stages in and between processes; seek continuous improvement and approach improvements from a whole system perspective.

LEANWIND gathers a consortium of 31 partners representing both key industrial and academic players of the offshore wind sector. It has received funds from the  7th Framework Programme of the European Commission.
