Julia joined Transport&Environment as Clean Vehicles & E-Mobility Officer in January 2015 after finishing her PhD on environmental policy in the European car industry. Her research, carried out in Paris, Berlin and Brussels, analysed the history of CO2 regulation for passenger cars and looked at the politics behind sustainable electric mobility policy. A member of an international network for research on the automotive industry, she was involved in various European projects both as researcher, consultant and coordinator, and keeps publishing on low-carbon cars and sustainable mobility. As part of T&E’s vehicles team, she is working on sustainable electrification of transport and low-carbon vehicles policies. A native of Germany, Julia studied sociology and politics at Humboldt University in Berlin and at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, and continued her French-German doctorate studies at Humboldt and the École Normale Supérieure de Cachan in Paris. She speaks French, English and German.
