Biography
Byrkjedal has been working in Kjeller Vindteknikk since 2007, and has currently the position of R&D manager in the company. Byrkjedal has a background as a meteorologist and holds a phd in meteorology from the University of Bergen, Norway.
For the past 11 years Byrkjedal has been developing the use of meso scale modelling at Kjeller Vindteknikk. He lead the development of the Norwegian Wind Map funded by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) in 2009, and has later also created wind atlases for Sweden and Finland. The focus of his work has been to utilize the meso scale models as long term reference data sets, and for atmospheric icing calculations.
