2005: PhD in Biology with a focus on bat ecology at the University of Erlangen
2005 to present: environmental impact studies and data analyses as a freelancing scientist including several projects on bats at wind energy sites
2006 to 2009: Project director and scientist in the project "Development of methods to analyse and mitigate the collision risk of bats at on-shore wind turbines" funded by the Germany federal ministry for environment, nature conservation, and nuclear safety
Since 2011: Project director and scientist in two follow-up projects "Mitigation of the collision risk of bats at on-shore wind turbines" and "Measuring the collision risk of bats at on-shore wind turbines: applications for project developers" funded by the ministry mentioned and the federal ministry of economics.
