Christian Kjaer has been working in the wind energy sector since 1998. He is CEO of the Danish Wind Turbine Owners’ Association, a position he has held since August 2016. He was appointed CEO of the European Wind Energy Association (Now WindEurope) in Brussels in 2006, after four years as the organisation’s policy director. After resigning from WindEurope in April 2013, he founded Faraday Consult. Between January 2015 and June 2016 he served as Head of Unit at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Christian was a Board member of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and of the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) from 2006 to 2013. He worked at the Danish Wind Industry Association in Copenhagen, 1998 to 2002. Before that he was a journalist at the political desk of Danish Daily newspaper, Berlingske. He holds a Masters in International Economics and is a member of the Danish Federation of Journalists.
