Matthias Wächter studied physics in Kiel and Oldenburg, Germany, where he also received his PhD in physics. He is heading the section of stochastic methods in the Turbulence, Wind Energy and Stochastics research group (TWiSt) at the ForWind Center for Wind Energy Research in Oldenburg. His main research fields are wind energy and stochastic data analysis and modeling.
