Kevin Leahy received his BE in Energy Engineering from University College Cork, Ireland in 2013. In 2014 he started working towards his Ph.D. in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering with the Intelligent Efficiency Research Group (IERG). In 2015/2016 he spent 12 months continuing his PhD research at the BEST lab in UC Berkeley as part of a Fulbright scholarship. His research interests are in the area of renewable energy and data analytics, specifically in applying machine learning methods to detect wind turbine faults and performance issues.
