Research Professor, Texas Tech University, United States
Brian is a Research Professor for the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech University. Brian is specialized in observing significant wind events including thunderstorm outflows, tornadoes, landfalling hurricanes, and low-level jets using a variety of tower and remote sensing platforms. With a background in atmospheric observations of wind structure, Brian’s active research involves the investigation of complex wind flows for wind energy applications using custom, advanced Doppler radar technologies and associated analysis techniques. Brian is also co-Founder of SmartWind Technologies, a technology development and service company specializing in providing hardware, software and knowledge to measure and analyze complex wind flows in the lower atmosphere.
