Europe currently has 287 GW of wind power capacity, expected to double in the next five years. But the wind energy industry faces several challenges, including rising costs, slow permitting processes, and inefficient auction design, putting pressure on the whole supply chain of wind. Despite over €10bn in investments in the supply chain, forecasted installations already fall short of meeting our 2030 targets.
This workshop will look at how much Europe can manufacture and install after these investments and identify actions needed to improve permitting, grid investments, and electrification. Participants will discuss these issues in two sessions, focusing on supply chain capacities and steps to maintain stable project pipelines
