Local Energy, Local Impact: Approaches to enhance community acceptance – Panel discussion

Nadara

When: Wednesday 9 April, 16:00 – 17:30

Where: Meeting Room 178, Bella Sky Hotel – Level 1

Open to: All registered participants – With additional registration required

Since Nadara launched its first Community Benefit Fund in 2005, it has pioneered community engagement in the renewables industry. Now, with over 200 energy sites across Europe and the US, its proven approach to sustainable local partnerships encompasses annual in-person forums and community co-operatives that share profits from neighbouring plants.

In this session, a panel of specialists from across the community engagement sphere will share their experiences in effectively engaging local stakeholders. Nadara experts will also give insights into the models used to encourage collaboration across the lifecycle of a site, discussing the real-world impacts of the schemes it operates to nurture community development, encourage local participation, and boost local supply chains.

This discussion is an opportunity to share best practices and challenges, exploring how we can come together as an industry to improve local acceptance of wind energy projects and help to achieve Europe’s 2030 climate and energy targets.
