Session description
Data centers today represent ~1% of global electricity demand and they are expected to consume 750 TWh (a threefold increase) by 2030. As data centers consumption is 24x7, strategies to procure clean electricity require having a renewable portfolio with various complementary technologies. Data center operators are currently among the most active buyers of renewable electricity, especially via PPAs. As energy cost is a relevant component in the DCs operations, a good energy supply contract can make the difference.
