Abstract

The paper presents a Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) method for estimating the value factor of new wind energy projects—considering the site-specific correlation between wind speed and electricity price. The study highlights Denmark's decreasing trend in value factors over the past 24 years, indicating a significant impact on revenue generation. Wind turbines erected in 2009 experienced a 20% drop in revenue by 2023, showcasing the importance of understanding market dynamics in WRA. The research emphasises the need for WRA to consider electricity market fluctuations to ensure accurate assessments and successful project development in future energy markets.
