We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in industry and the academic community.
On 9 April at 17:15, we’ll also hold the main poster session and distinguish the 7 best posters of this year’s edition with our traditional Poster Awards Ceremony. Join us at the poster area to cheer and meet the laureates, and enjoy some drinks with all poster presenters!
We look forward to seeing you there!
PO179: Harmonising Through Education: T-shore's Approach to Wind Technician Training
Gerben Huiszoon, Project Manager, Scalda
Abstract
The T-Shore project is at the forefront of standardising the training of entry-level offshore wind technicians across Europe. As the offshore wind industry rapidly expands, the need for a highly skilled and uniformly trained workforce has never been more critical. To address this, T-Shore has developed a harmonised curriculum that focuses on six essential competencies: industry knowledge, electrical and mechanical skills, hydraulic system maintenance, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols, and effective teamwork and communication. This training program comprises ten comprehensive learning modules that integrate theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience and provide entry level skills to starting wind technicians. Each module was developed in collaboration with vocational education and training (VET) providers and industry partners across Europe, ensuring that the content is both relevant and adaptable to various educational systems. The program utilises cutting-edge tools, including virtual reality (VR), to simulate real-life scenarios, providing trainees with the skills necessary to excel in offshore wind operations. By harmonising training standards across Europe, T-Shore ensures consistent training quality, prepares technicians to meet the evolving demands of the industry, and enhances their readiness for the challenges of offshore wind farms. The program's adaptability allows it to serve as a blueprint for future vocational training initiatives, supporting the continued growth and sustainability of the renewable energy sector.
