We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in industry and the academic community.
On 9 April at 17:15, we’ll also hold the main poster session and distinguish the 7 best posters of this year’s edition with our traditional Poster Awards Ceremony. Join us at the poster area to cheer and meet the laureates, and enjoy some drinks with all poster presenters!
We look forward to seeing you there!
PO053: Digital approaches to widen stakeholder engagement
Lisa Cousins, Associate Director - Business Design, Accenture
Abstract
The massive scale of onshore and offshore wind farms increasingly intersects with communities and natural ecosystems on land and the ocean. Securing a social license to operate is becoming increasingly challenging and lengthening permitting timelines and risk of legal challenges affect economic viability. Widening and strengthening stakeholder engagement approach is becoming a business priority. Digital tools can enable better community engagement, increase the transparency of environmental impact assessment. Moreover, similar tools can help tailor the right approaches to match jobs with job seekers and gain an overview of the right skills to build in the community. We will deep dive on three case studies: 1. Using tailored engagement platforms: Leverage the power of social listening and use AI to analyse the community sentiment to develop tailored stakeholder engagement strategy. Communicate directly with the local community through engagement platforms that focus on visual and interactive features with individually tailored content to help inform and bring the community on the journey, whilst also providing a space for them to contribute and feel heard. 2. AI for EIA : Leverage the power of AI to monitor species population, habitats and migration patterns to minimize biodiversity impact, improve transparency and build trust with communities and nature conservation groups. 3. AI for capacity building and inclusion: Leverage the power of AI and analytics to upskill community members while addressing the green skills gap and equity.
