Biography
Kristian Notebaert joined the group (former Sidmar) in 1991, working in the hot strip mill. In 1998, he joined Tailor Steel NV (part of Sidmar Group) as a General Manager. In 2002, he took up the position of industrial director at Arcelor Auto for laser welded blanking. In 2005, he joined the upstream transversal team and took the position of upstream support manager in Flat Carbon Western Europe.
In May 2008, he was responsible for health, safety, and security and became expert for primary, energy and environment, before being appointed head of supply chain in FCE. In April 2012, Kristian became chief operating officer primary for ArcelorMittal Gent. In March 2014, Kristian was chief operating officer finishing, ArcelorMittal Europe Flat Products, Cluster Gent.
In September 2019 Kristian was appointed head of Flat Transformation Program, Reliability & Maintenance. In February 2021 he became head of CTO primary for Flat Europe, working on the decarbonization of the Flat Europe plants. In March 2022 Kristian has been appointed has been appointed chief technology officer decarbonisation.
Kristian holds a master’s degree in electromechanical engineering and is a graduate from the University of Gent, Belgium.
