Biography
Andriy Konechenkov, is one of the leading RES experts in Ukraine with a 33-year relevant expertise. Since 2008 - Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association and Director of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Agency, since 2019 - Board member of the Ukrainian Energy Expert Council, co-founder and co-chairman of
100% RE Ukraine platform.
In the late 80th of the twenty century, he was deeply involved in the antinuclear movement of Ukraine. From 1989 to 1993 he was editor-in-chief of the newspaper “ECHO of CHERNOBYL” and headed the press centre of the International Organization "Chernobyl Union". In 1990 was one of the organisers of the information tour to the European countries “Chernobyl Trace”.
The author of more than 300 publications devoted to renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and energy-saving issues, including two school textbooks devoted to energy-saving issues and the Ukrainian version of the international Distance Internet Education for Renewable Energy Technologies; co-author of special wind power editions and publications including Guidelines for the development and support of projects in the field of wind power” (2018), and White Paper on Offshore Wind Energy in Ukraine (2021).
In 2018 and 2020, he was awarded the Ecotransformation prize (Ukrainian Eco-Oscar) for his significant contribution to the “green” transformation of Ukraine; in 2019 - the World Wind Energy Award 2019 for his outstanding achievements in promoting wind energy technologies in Ukraine and worldwide, listed in Golden Fund of Nation edition 2020 along with other outstanding persons of Ukraine.
