Biography

Since April 2022 Markus Laukamp is CEO of WindGrid, Elia Groups Subsidiary to deliver transmission Assets outside Germany and Belgium. Before joining Windgrid he was 9 years MD of Steag New Energies, a leading provider of decentralized Energy solutions for Industrial and Municipal clients in Germany and Developer and Operator of Onshore Wind Projects in Germany, France and Poland. From 2010 to 2013 he was Director at Dong Energy (today Orsted) in the Offshore-Wind Division in Copenhagen focusing on Project- and Technology development. Prior to joining Orsted he worked for Essent, a leading Dutch Energy Company first as head of Strategy and Regulatory Affairs Germany and then as MD of KOM-Strom, a Leipzig based electricity wholesale trading company. He started his professional career in Management Consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton (today part of PWC) serving mostly clients from the Energy Industry and Telecommunications. Markus Laukamp holds degrees in Physics (RWTH Aachen, FSU Tallahassee) and Business Administration (FernUni Hagen).
