Researcher, DTU Wind
Biography
Ásta Hannesdóttir is a researcher at DTU Wind and Energy Systems. She holds a master’s degree in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Copenhagen and a PhD from DTU Wind Energy. During her PhD, her work focused on developing detection techniques for wind speed fluctuations and exploring the distinction between microscale turbulence and large coherent events in relation to wind turbine loads. Since completing her PhD, Ásta has contributed to various research projects, that are related to e.g. atlas of siting parameters, gust detection with nacelle lidar, and modeling blade erosion due to rain. She is currently leading the tool development work package in the EU-funded project AIRE.Posters
