Biography

As Grid Connection & Electrical Works Senior Director, Fernando Sada is in charge of managing all the aspects related to the electrical network and project grid connection, including interfaces with the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). Fernando is also responsible for evaluating all the system studies required for the smooth integration of BlueFloat Energy’s projects into the electrical grid. Fernando brings more than fourteen years of multidisciplinary offshore wind experience gained in international context and in diverse engineering fields. Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Fernando worked for four years at Cobra Group as Electrical System Supervisor and Engineering Coordinator within the core team of Kincardine Project, an operational floating offshore wind project off the cost of Aberdeen, UK. Fernando started his career at ABB Offshore Wind Connections in Sweden where he worked as Electrical System Designer and Analyst and participated in the successful completion of the DolWin Alpha and DolWin Beta offshore wind projects in Northern Germany and other offshore wind projects’ tender preparation. Fernando holds a double MsC degree in Industrial-Electrical Engineering received from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm (KTH).
