Marine Biodiversity Specialist, The Biodiversity Consultancy
Biography
Aonghais Cook is a Principal Consultant at The Biodiversity Consultancy, he has over 15 years of experience investigating the impacts of offshore wind farms on biodiversity. In that time, he has worked closely with regulators, developers, consultants, NGOs, academics and other research organisations to support the environmentally sensitive development of the offshore wind industry. Whilst many of these projects were initially focused on the UK, as the industry has expanded globally, there has been an increasingly international focus to his work, and he has been involved with projects in the Philippines, Japan, USA and Australia. Prior to joining The Biodiversity Consultancy, Aonghais worked for the British Trust for Ornithology, where he led work on seabirds and offshore wind farms. An active scientist, Aonghais has published over 25 peer-reviewed papers and was a member of the scientific committee for the 2022 and 2023 Conference on Wind Energy and Wildlife Impacts.Posters
