Tech lead and Founder, Tipspeed
Biography
Samuel has 15 years of experience in wind energy and aerodynamics. His wind expertise includes measurements, turbine performance, modeling and controls, and site modeling. After a PhD on turbulent flow at ONERA, in 2011 Samuel joined Leosphere (now Vaisala) to lead the nacelle mounted lidar product and technology team. During this time, the team developed new products and contributed to the start of the IEC standardization efforts - leading to a widely accepted use of nacelle lidars now. Samuel was also part of some of the first commercial tests of lidar for wind turbine controls. In 2015 Samuel joined GE Wind where he took several roles ranging from R&D project leader, wind and wake modeling technical leader, and senior engineering manager for simulation tools. In 2023, Samuel founded Tipspeed to propose innovative wind resource modeling technology with the goal to unlock new value for operating wind farms.Posters
