Biography

Mr. Joep Breuer has been active in the wind industry since 2005. He is currently a senior consultant in the Wind Energy department of TNO. He studied Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Specialized in Composite Engineering he worked for many years in Airborne Wind Energy, but currently focuses his work on the interaction between birds and wind turbines. As ecology lead in the Wind Department he combines different expertise within and outside TNO to provide ecologists with the right information and technological tools to determine bird behaviour around turbines. With this knowledge he tries to minimise possible negative effects on bird populations and find a balance between the roll-out of wind power and ecological impact.
