Bjørn Rannestad is a Senior Specialist in Front-End Innovation, Product & Engineering Solutions at KK Wind Solutions A/S. With over 25 years of experience in the power electronics industry and 16 years dedicated to the development and research of wind turbine power electronic converters, Bjørn has made significant contributions to advancing renewable energy technology. He holds an Industrial PhD, completed in 2019, related to wind turbine converters, and a Master's degree in Electrical Energy Technology from 1999. Bjørn has led work packages in collaborative research projects with key industry and academic partners, including Aalborg University, Vestas, and Siemens Gamesa. He has authored over 45 academic papers and filed more than 20 patent applications on power electronics topics, establishing himself as an expert in his field. His work focuses on innovation and optimizing power electronics for sustainable energy solutions.
