Biography

Sílvio Rodrigues embarked on his academic journey in 2006 at the Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, pursuing a bachelor's in Electrotechnical Engineering and Computer Science. He successfully completed his studies and in 2011 earned his MSc. from the Energy Department of the same institution. Following this, Silvio pursued a doctoral research project as a PhD student at the DC Systems, Energy Conversion, and Storage group of Delft University of Technology. His research was part of the Flow project, focusing on creating a multi-objective optimisation framework for offshore wind farm design. In 2016, he co-founded Jungle, assuming a leadership role in R&D, leveraging his expertise in multi-objective optimisation algorithms and cutting-edge machine learning to tackle industry challenges, particularly in the wind energy sector. As of 2024, Sílvio continues to contribute significantly to renewable energy and AI-driven solutions, advancing our understanding and utilization of wind energy through his work at Jungle AI.
