Biography
Markel Penalba completed his engineering degree at the University of the Basque Country, his Master in Marine Renewable Energies at ENSTA Bretagne in France and his PhD at the Centre for Ocean Energy Research in Ireland, becoming an expert in mathematical modelling and control of Ocean Renewable Energy Systems. He currently is an Associate Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering at Mondragon University, where he leads the Offshore Technologies research line, and has recently become an Ikerbasque Research Fellow in Offshore Technologies & Green Hydrogen. Dr. Penalba has collaborated with a large number of national and international research centres and university groups in different aspects related to offshore technologies, participating in over 40 international scientific publications and over 15 national and international research projects. His research interests include uncertainty reduction in resource assessment; advanced wave-to-wire modelling and control; WEC farm optimisation; O&M modelling and optimisation; and Offshore green hydrogen generation.Posters
