Biography

Sophie de Reus is a marine ecologist and project lead within the Nature-friendly energy team of the North Sea Foundation. She actively contributes to the Dutch North Sea consultation process on marine spatial planning, specifically concerning the allocation of areas for offshore wind farms and how this relates to local nature needs. She provides ecological input to the wind industry and national and European policy-makers on all phases of a wind farm, both on ecological opportunities and risks, including their mitigation measures. She is often asked to present at conferences or be part of public panel discussions.
