Biography

Dr. Mieke Mathys is a marine geologist with 20 years of experience, holder of a doctoral degree in Quaternary geology. Mieke Mathys is senior advisor and project manager at IMDC. In addition, she is the Quality Coordinator, strong in keeping the overview of complex systems and streamlining procedures. She managed and coordinated environmental impact assessments (EIA) of various offshore activities over the past 15 years, including several offshore wind farms with export cables. In the past 4 years, Mieke was project manager of the team appointed by the Belgian government for the procurement, follow-up and quality control of the field and desktop studies for the new Princess Elisabeth Offshore windfarm zone in Belgium.
