Biodiversity Partner – BirdLife
BirdLife Europe & Central Asia in Brussels is one of six global offices of BirdLife International, the world’s largest partnership of conservation organizations. Our mission: safeguarding birds, their habitats, and preserving nature for future generations.
We represent 46 national BirdLife Partners from 44 European and Central Asian countries, including all EU Member States. We work with a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, researchers, and local communities, and we benefit from the expertise and knowledge of over 2,700 conservation professionals.
Birds are vital indicators of the health of our environment. Understanding and protecting them translates into safeguarding entire ecosystems, addressing both the climate and biodiversity crises. We remain committed to science-driven, evidence-based actions for a sustainable future.
The fast deployment of wind energy is pivotal for the energy transition to combat the climate crisis. Yet, a nature-friendly energy transition needs to make sure that potential biodiversity concerns and opportunities are considered in the process. With our local Partners on the ground, we are happy to share experiences and best practices to make a future of wind energy alongside nature protection and conservation possible.
