Universities Participation in WindEurope’s Annual Event 2025

Overview

WindEurope invites universities to submit proposals for student participation at WindEurope’s upcoming Annual Event – in Copenhagen from 8-10 April. The event will feature a wind energy industry exhibition, a high-level policy conference, a special student programme tailored to students’ needs, a networking lunch with industry leaders, and lots of side events. It’s a unique opportunity for students to engage with industry leaders, to gain hands-on experience, and explore career opportunities in the wind energy sector. We welcome proposals from engineering, business, environmental science, and IT faculty programmes.

Eligibility

We’re looking for proposals from accredited universities in the European Economic Area, Switzerland (EEAS) + UK with programmes in:

We welcome proposals from universities with full-time Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate/PhD students. Please note that Doctorate/PhD students who are employed part-time by a company are not eligible to participate.

Proposal requirements

Proposals should include the following components:

  1. Institutional overview: A brief description of the university and relevant academic programs.
  2. Student selection criteria: Criteria and process for selecting students, emphasising diversity.
  3. Number of attendees: Specifying the number of students.
  4. Proposed programme: Outline how attendees will make use of their time at the event beyond participating in the student programme, conference and exhibition (i.e. bringing visibility to the event through articles, interviews, social media content etc.)

Submission Process

Please submit your proposal electronically via our online submission portal before 30 October 2024.

Important Dates

Funding

Students will receive a daily per diem of 100 Euros.

Students based in Copenhagen will receive a daily per diem of 50 Euros.

The travel budget for students will be determined using the European Commission tool. This calculation will be based on the means of transportation and the distance from the place of departure to Copenhagen.

The reimbursement will be processed after the event, once students attendance has been verified and the university-issued invoice has been reviewed.

Universities that meet the evaluation criteria will receive full or partial funding based on the available budget. WindEurope retains the sole discretion to decide who receives funding.

Note: Event registration fees are covered by WindEurope.

Note: Attendance to at all student-specific sessions is mandatory.
