Abstract

Digitizing borescope inspection workflow by leveraging cloud-based solutions can benefit multiple stakeholders of the wind farm operations industry. Borescope inspection provides the information needed to make critical decisions for condition monitoring of wind turbine gearboxes. The hardware technology has advanced with powerful image processing, finer articulation control and oil-clearing lenses. Meanwhile the inspection workflow can be more efficient, more standardized, and more collaborative. Evident Scientific is developing an evolving cloud platform to benefit the wind industry. We aim to offers value-adding workflow solutions through an ecosystem of connected devices and cloud applications. In this paper, we will focus on one of the applications on the Evident Connect cloud platform, ViSOL™. This resource assessment tool is designed to improve the remote visual inspection (RVI) workflow with online data management, inspection planning, report template design, report generation, collaboration, data visualization and analytics as well as offline productivity.
