Nikolaos Simisiroglou is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in the wind industry. He has made valuable contributions in the field, specialising in wind resource assessment, wake estimation, and sustainable energy solutions. Nikolaos began his career as a project engineer at WindSim AS, where he developed an Actuator Disc model to estimate wake and blockage effects. This model showcased his expertise and contributed to improved wind turbine placement and energy production. With a strong passion for sustainability, Nikolaos pursued a PhD in meteorology at Uppsala University. Following his doctorate, he gained valuable insights as a wind resource analyst at Vattenfall, where he focused on optimizing wind farm layouts and reducing uncertainty in wind resource assessment. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Specialist at RWE, Nikolaos plays a vital role in developing and automating routine processes. He also coordinates digital solutions in wind field simulation, yield estimation, and wind data processing using big data techniques.
