Biography

Andrea Hahmann is a senior scientist in the Resource Assessment and Meteorology group of the Department of Wind and Energy Systems at the Danish Technical University (DTU Wind). She started her studies at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and obtained her PhD in Meteorology from the University of Utah. She has worked with atmospheric models for nearly 30 years. Before coming to the wind energy field 14 years ago, she worked at the University of Arizona and then at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. She now works on atmospheric modeling applied to wind energy resource assessment and the effect of climate change on renewable energy resources. She was a lead author in the IPCC AR6 Working Group III report, published in 2022.
