Biography

Dr.-Ing. Doron Callies is Senior Scientist Energy Meteorology at Fraunhofer IEE and additionally works at the University of Kassel. He has been working at Fraunhofer IEE in the field of resource assessment for fifteen years. During this time, he worked on wind measurements, wind field modeling, wind energy potential, land use planning and reliability of wind turbines. In 2014, he completed his PhD thesis entitled "Analysis of the potential of onshore wind energy in Germany considering technical and planning constraints". Since 2015, he is a lecturer at the University of Kassel for resource and site assessment for wind farms.
