Repowering: assessing socio-economic and environmental impact

When: Wednesday, 25 November 2026, 10:30 - 11:15

Session description

This session will explore the socio-economic and environmental side of repowering. How does the impact on communities and biodiversity change? Repowering offers an opportunity for developers to put in place different community engagement measures while the number of turbines usually decreases. It also is an opportunity for the natural sphere. Fewer turbines can mean a decreased impact on birds. But how can this best be integrated in project development?
