Biography

Laura Sophie Hemper is Legal Counsel at the German Wind Energy Association (BWE), where she works on EU law and German public law, with a particular focus on nature conservation law. She studied law in Gießen and Budapest with an additional degree of Magistra Iuris Internationalis, and holds a Master’s degree (LL.M.) from Maastricht University. As part of her legal clerkship, she completed a placement at the European Commission within DG ENV. Prior to joining BWE, she gained professional experience at the Chair of European Law at the University of Freiburg and at law firms specializing in environmental and energy law.
