In addition to its main events, WindEurope organises wind energy workshops in response to requests from members where participants can exchange experience on policy, finance and technical developments. As with all of our events, WindEurope workshops are organised ‘for the industry by the industry’.
The highly popular technology workshops provide a quality platform for discussing specific issues at the best value for money for delegates, only possible because WindEurope – the sector’s non-profit organisation – does not have to generate profit for shareholders. By supporting WindEurope events you are supporting your industry.
27 – 28 June, Brussels, Belgium
The 5th edition of this technology workshop will focus on reducing uncertainty in wind farm resource assessment.
Through better models and validation tools, we can better estimate how much wind there is at a given site. As the scope of technology and ambition in wind energy continues to grow, innovative ideas will become ever more central to reducing uncertainty.
That’s why this workshop is not about commercial content.
Instead, we will be gathering Europe’s leading wind tech experts for two days to explore real solutions for reducing uncertainty.

A significant share of Europe’s wind turbine fleet will come to the end of its projected lifetime within the next 10 to 15 years. In order to fulfill Europe’s long-term decarbonisation agenda, the share of wind energy in the energy mix needs to grow further, and this outgoing generation capacity will have to be replaced.
But this process is not as straightforward as it could seem.
The first edition of WindEurope’s End-of-Life Issues and Strategies (EoLIS) seminar will bring together industry and academic experts to discuss the way forward.

16 & 17 March 2017 – EICC, Edinburgh, UK
WindEurope’s technology workshop on wind resource assessment is the must attend event for specialists in the field. The Resource Assessment workshop gathered over 180 resource assessment experts from industry and academia.
You can see an overview of the programme below. This edition covered a wide-range of topics including how to handle big data, how resource assessment can contribute to minimising the cost of energy or how to reduce uncertainty in modelling wakes. We also held a special session with investors for exclusive insights on resource assessment.

The 2016 edition focussed on big data and innovative approaches to boost performance and optimise O&M strategies.
The five sessions covered strategies to extract value from big data, understanding failures and detecting faults, using data for advanced performance modelling, reporting and analysis from operating assets, as well as innovative approaches to operations optimisation, life-extension and decommissioning.
During the extended networking breaks, participants were also able to view 37 posters and meet their authors.
