Biography

Alfonso San Emeterio Bengoechea has over 10 years of experience in wind energy engineering. He earned a Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and completed an internship at ITP, a turbopropulsion company. He began his career at Aeroblade in 2011, focusing on wind turbine blade design and root cause analysis. In 2012, he worked at Aernnova Engineering Solutions, conducting structural analyses for Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer. Since 2014, Alfonso has been with Nabla Wind Hub, initially as Head of Aerodynamics and Loads, later becoming Engineering Director, specializing in wind farm life extension, turbine inspection, aeroelastic modeling, and reverse engineering. He has contributed to M&A processes and turbine certifications. Since 2018, he leads two IEC working groups on wind turbine life extension standards. Currently, Alfonso is General Manager of Nabla Wind Hub's Spanish unit.
