Biography

Matthew Zhang is a Chartered Engineer with nearly 20 years of global experience in wind energy development. His expertise spans energy yield assessment, wind conditions analysis, turbine load evaluation, and wind farm design and performance optimisation. Currently, he is Principal Engineer of Wind Energy Resource at Lightsource bp in the United Kingdom, where he leads efforts to refine wind resource assessment and enhance energy yield prediction.  Throughout his career, Matthew has held key roles including Wind and Site Engineer at Vestas, Senior and Lead Consultant at Wind Prospect and WSP, and Offshore Wind Project Certification Specialist at Lloyd’s Register. He has contributed to numerous projects that have driven advancements in wind energy technology and boosted the efficiency of wind power generation worldwide.
