Biography

Thijs van Winden is Chief Technology Officer at Whiffle, where he leads the development of the company's LES-based weather modelling platform supporting the wind industry world-wide. With a career across CERN and SkyGeo, he worked at the frontier of high-energy physics, remote sensing, and large-scale physical modelling. Thijs holds an MSc in Systems & Control from the TU Delft specializing in closing the loop in large-scale data problems. He brings cross-disciplinary experience and a systems view to the wind industry, advocating for a integrated modelling approach to reduce uncertainty and improve the yield risk profile of wind energy projects.
