Biography
Angel is a PhD student in civil engineering at University College Dublin in Ireland, focusing his work on population-based structural health monitoring of wind farms. His research explores how AI and data from real wind farms can help detect faults and monitor the health of individual wind energy assets.
Previously, he got a master's degree in mechatronic engineering through the Erasmus Mundus program, studying in Egypt, Spain, and Germany. He also holds a bachelor's degree in mechatronic engineering from ESPOL Polytechnic University in Ecuador.
Over the years, Angel has published his research on AI, SHM, fault prognosis, and renewable energy technologies, especially wind energy, with more than 20 contributions---in top-tier journals and conferences---and 190 citations thus far.
