Abstract

"The case is a combination of two ongoing projects in the Netherlands aimed at keeping the wind industry circular and strategically autonomous. The first project involves drafting and implementing a Roadmap in consultation with sector stakeholders. This roadmap formulates a vision for the next 5 to 10 years to realize circular, strategic autonomy, and economic policy objectives, the technical and process innovations required for this, and a portfolio of public and private projects to realize these innovations. Additionally, the procurement criteria have been aligned with requirements from the Circular Product Passport. The second project is a Supply Chain Project in which international private players from the wind industry have created a first design for collaborative decommissioning (one of the key priorities of the Roadmap). The guiding principles of this design are: a collaborative setup with various positions in the value chain, a permanent structure for multiple projects, and maximizing value so that decommissioning becomes financially feasible and components and materials are deployed at their highest value. https://energy-innovation.nl/en/agenda/circo-track-offshore-windparken/"
