Biography

Ed Flanders is the Climate and Environmental Impact Manager at Nadara where he leads the development and delivery of the company’s environmental sustainability strategy. He works at the intersection of sustainability, project delivery and commercial decision making, translating circular economy ambitions into practical strategies for dismantling, material recovery, procurement and contractor management. Ed’s work spans live decommissioning and repowering projects across Nadara’s European portfolio. He co-authored the circularity analysis of Plouvien, Nadara’s first decommissioning project in 2025, where more than 1,000 tonnes of components and materials were processed, achieving a 98% material recovery rate and 100% landfill avoidance. He has subsequently worked to embed lessons from Plouvien into the material-management strategies and commercial models for current and future decommissioning projects across Nadaras portfolio. Before joining Nadara, Ed worked in renewable energy development and sustainability consulting, advising organisations on carbon accounting, Net Zero strategy and climate risk. He holds a degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Aberdeen and is a GARP-certified Climate Risk Professional.
