Biography

Raja Sekhar Battu is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, TU Delft, Netherlands, where he is working on the Reliablade2 project. His research focuses on the development of hybrid modelling frameworks that integrate experimental measurements and finite element simulations for damage detection and remaining useful life (RUL) prediction in composite wind turbine blades. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Exeter, UK, where his research concentrated on vibration-based structural health monitoring using pattern recognition and machine learning techniques applied to large-scale structures such as aircraft wings. He holds a Master of Technology degree in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, India, with research focused on the design and finite element analysis of fully composite aircraft structures. His broader research interests include structural health monitoring, composite materials, damage mechanics, data-driven methods, and the application of machine learning to aerospace and wind energy structures.
