Today, we face the challenge of decommissioning older wind turbines in a professional and sustainable manner. If it is possible to re-use, recycle, or refurbish the item, then these options should be carefully evaluated for their cost-effectiveness. Some organisations have started to build a platform to collect experience, exchange knowledge, and provide information to stakeholders about refurbishing, reusing, and recycling end-of-life wind turbines. Are there any requirements and/or obstacles to building such a platform and what are the possible benefits?
