Session description

As part of their operational and environmental responsibilities, wind farm operators are accountable for sustainable decommissioning of their assets and restoring the sites to their original state. This includes the managing the disposal of the turbine components and waste generated at the end of the life of a wind farm. This session explores where the materials and components actually go after decommissioning and how wind farm owners/operators and decommissioning companies work together to adhere to relevant regulations and environmental laws governing the decommissioning and waste management of wind turbines.
